Ananias Hilson was born in Baker County, Georgia to the late Royce and Annie Bell Hilson on Nov 1, 1943. After relocating to Albany, Georgia with his parents, he attended the public schools of Dougherty County and graduated from Monroe High School in the class of 1963. Mr. Hilson was a member of Union Baptist Church and attended regularly until his health began to fail. For over 2 5 years, he worked for CSX Railroad in various positions including switchman, conductor and engineer earning the name "Zack" from his railroad friends. Many called him "Pam" or "Nize ". He loved everything related to the railroad, antique cars, lawnmowers, engines, caring/or others and Ga Pre K /college education.
On Friday, February 14, 2020, Ananias departed this earthly life at Pruitt Palmyra Healthcare. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four siblings, Bertha Dykes, John H. Hilson, Michael Hilson and Annie Lee Hilson.
He leaves to cherish his memory a very caring family: Linda Y Gay, Audrey Gay, Carol Gay, his brother William Hilson, two sisters-in-law Mrs. Carolyn M. Knighton (Renzie), Mrs. Lillian Tolbert, nieces, nephews, cousins, caring neighbors, friends, the care team at Pruitt Palmyra Healthcare and Boo (the family pet).
