Mrs. Betty Jean Mitchell was born September 14, 1944, in Albany, Georgia, to the late Mr. OG Williams and Mrs. Mary Emma Offord Williams.
She confessed her life to Christ at an early age at Third Kiokee Baptist Church where she served in the Junior Choir to the Senior Choir.
She attended school in Dougherty County where she went to Monroe High School and graduated in 1962. After graduating from high school, she went to trade school at Albany Technical School (College) where she majored in nursing and graduated in 1969. She became an LPN and worked for Phoebe Putney Hospital for 35 years. She retired in the early ‘90s.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Mr. Willie James of Richfield, Minnesota; and one brother-in-law, Mr. Freddie B. Blackmon, Albany, Georgia.
She leaves to cherish her memories: two brothers, Fred B. Williams (Liz), Plymouth, Minnesota, and John D. Williams, Bloomington, Minnesota; one sister, Mrs. Ozzie Blackmon, Albany, Georgia; and a host of nieces and nephews.
