On June 19, 1943, Hazel Bynum Jenkins and Henry Smith became the proud parents of Bill Bynum.
Bill was a graduate of Monroe High School. On January 18, 1963, Bill enlisted in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged on February 18, 1966.
On May 28, 1966, he married the love of his life, Irene Kalip. They were married for 45 years.
Bill worked for Air Product and Proctor & Gamble. He and his wife owned Bill Stop & Go.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife, Irene Kalip Bynum; and his brothers, Kreg Jenkins, Richard Jenkins, and John Wesley Jenkins.
He leaves the fondest memories to be cherished by two daughters, Connie Shorter and Marjorie Bynum; one granddaughter, Irena Guest; two grandsons, Murry Shorter, Jr. and Maurice Shorter; one brother, Robert Jenkins; three sisters, Brenda Collins, Vivian Fliggins and Rosa Williams; a sister-in-law, Ruth Ellen Smith; godsons, William Lemon, Michael Mosley, and Johnny Wright, Jr.; great-godson, Dontavious Bonner; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
