We are deeply sorry for your loss - the staff at Elliott Funeral Home
As parents, we hope and pray that our kids know how much they truly mean to us and that we only want the best for them. We treasure the times our children have to express they truly do love us, and they understand that the things we are trying to teach them are for their own good. Nothing is as beautiful as the true, unconditional love that a mother receives from her child. On Tuesday, September 12, 2006, in Albany, Georgia, Alexis Thomas was blessed with the most precious gift imaginable. The Lord favored her and gave her true love in the form of her son, Carlos Donnell Lamar. Unfortunately, it was a love that came to an end sooner rather than later. For 15 wonderful years, his love gave her the opportunity to experience more love, patience, and understanding than she would ever know. On Sunday, June 12, 2022, Carlos was called by the Lord to be His next soldier in His elite army.
Carlos was an intelligent, all-around great person who brought so much joy to those around him including his family, friends, teachers, and even people who barely knew him. He had the most contagious laugh, a lovely smile, and a goofy personality that was sure to put a smile on your face even if you were crying or feeling down.
Carlos was a student at Dougherty High School. He loved sports, especially basketball and football. He also loved to be outside having fun with his friends and family.
Although Carlos is no longer physically here, the great bond that he and his siblings shared will remain forever. If he needed a shoulder, he could always turn to them; and if they needed one, they could always count on him to make things better. He may have been the younger sibling, but there was nothing in this world he wouldn’t do for his sisters. Carlos loved his mom more than anything in the world, and in all his actions, he meant well. His girlfriend, Kamia, has suffered an even greater loss in that he was the person she confided in the most and helped her face her fears in order to become a better person. They truly brought out the best in each other.
To cherish his memory, Carlos leaves his mother, Alexis Thomas; his sisters, Anesha Lamar and Kassandra Lamar; his grandparents, Alex and Elizabeth Thomas; his partners-in-crime, Jessica Williams, and Nickolas Somerville; his lovely girlfriend, Kamia Loud; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, close friends, and classmates. He will be missed, but he will never be forgotten.
