Carlton James Hines

C. J. Hines, the son of the late Horsley Hines and Vera Mae Hines, was born on January 17, 1939, in Albany, Georgia.

C. J. transitioned from this life on May 6, 2021, in Aurora, Colorado. He was preceded in death by his stepdaughter, Cynthia; and his siblings, Virginia, Vera, and Johnny “Bruh.”

C. J. was educated in the Dougherty County Public School System. He graduated from Monroe High School in 1958. He worked for United Airlines until he retired. He was a member of Third Kiokee Baptist Church where he served on the ushers’ board.

He leaves to mourn his passing, a step-son, Billy; his ex-wife, Verde Hines; nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins; a dear friend, Mac Washington; and classmates.
