Charlie Marks III Obituary

Charlie Edward Marks, III, affectionately known as Chuck, was born to Charlie Edward Marks, Jr. and Arvilla Marks on March 27, 1980, in Albany, Georgia.  Chuck strove to  “do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves” (Philippians 2:3-5).  Chuck would go the last mile to help those in need.

Chuck was educated in the Ventura County School System in Ventura, California, and ended his secondary academic career in the Dougherty County School System.  Chuck was a proud graduate of the Monroe High School class of 1998.  During his time at Monroe, Chuck was a football standout that led his team to many victories.  After high school, Chuck continued his education at the University of Florida.  While at the University of Florida, Chuck became a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.  Chuck earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Eastern Kentucky University.  Chuck continued to pursue higher education and earned a Master’s Degree in Human Resources from Troy State University.

Chuck was baptized at Port Hueneme Church of Christ when he was 11 years old.  When his family moved back to Albany, Georgia, Chuck worshiped at the U.S. 19 Church of Christ.  Chuck was the father of one daughter.

To the disappointment of those who knew and loved him, Chuck fell asleep in the Lord on September 6, 2024.

Those left to cherish precious memories of Chuck include:  his daughter, Raven Aleshia Marks; his parents, Charlie, Jr. and  Arvilla Marks; and his sister, Kayla Marks.  Other relatives who will fondly remember Chuck include:  three uncles, John H. Wade, Sr. of Albany, Georgia, Bobby Louis Marks of Palm Bay, Florida, and Leonard (Edna) Marks of Daleville, Alabama; five aunts, Barbara Prater, Wilhelmina (LeeRoy) Howard, and Sara Butler of Albany, Georgia, Dorris Neal of Fayetteville, Georgia,  and Alice Johnson of Jacksonville, Florida.  Loved by many, a host of relatives and friends will forever cherish memories of Chuck.
