Cynthia Ann Merritt was born to the late Agnes and Odell Merritt on August 27, 1953, in Albany, Georgia.
On Thursday, October 14, 2022, Cynthia was called to her heavenly home to receive her reward. Even though our hearts ache with sorrow, we find comfort in knowing God is too wise to make a mistake.
Her education was received in the Dougherty County School System where she graduated in 1971 from Monroe High School. She attended Fort Valley State College. After that, she moved to Atlanta, Georgia, where she worked for Blue Cross and Blue Shield as a manager.
Preceding her in death were her mother, Agnes Merritt; her father, Odell Merritt; sister, Mary Jones; and brothers, John Merritt, Joseph Merritt, and Odell Merritt, Jr.
Precious memories will always remain in the hearts of her loving and devoted family. She leaves to cherish her memories two sisters, Rosa McLain and Elizabeth Livingston; two brothers, Alonzo Merritt, and Wali Balil Merritt; a devoted niece, Veronica (Lorenzo) Robinson; and a host of nieces, great-nieces, nephews, great-nephews, cousins, and friends.
