David Lee James was born to the late Eddie Lee and Johnnie James on September 7, 1951. He joined Spring Creek Missionary Baptist Church at an early age and later in life joined the Hines Memorial Christian Methodist Episcopal Church.
Educated in the public schools of Dougherty County, he graduated from Monroe High School in 1969. He was employed at the Albany Plant of Proctor and Gamble Paper Products for many years until retirement. David was a true entrepreneur; he opened a detail shop and would make sure your car was clean as a whistle.
David made his transition on Monday, February 13, 2023. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Eddie Lee James, Jr.
To cherish his loving and caring memory he leaves his wife, Rosalyn Cummings James of Albany; two sons, Reginald David James, Sr. and Rodney Darrell James, Sr. of Albany; eleven grandchildren: Alexus Guest, Reginald James, Jr., Ria James, Reagan James, and Riyanne James all of Albany; Rodney James, Jr., Raelyne James, and Rylee James all of Ashburn; Rylan Anderson, Rae’Marion Anderson, and Ra’Moni Anderson all of Griffin; one great-grandchild, Kiree Jones of Albany.
Also cherishing his memory, two brothers and two sisters: Eddie Robinson, Mary James, and Loalan James all of Albany; Lenora McDaniels (Norman) of Riverdale; three sisters-in-law: Barbara Vanterpool (Irad), Phyllis Holsey, and Lydia Michelle Dailey (Bobby) all of Leesburg; one godson, Joel Lee of Albany.
A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends are left to remember his life.
