Deborah “Debra” Jean Brinkley was born on January 29, 1963, in Camilla, GA. She was the second of three children born to Jimmy and Edwina " Eddie-Wean" Brinkley.
Debra attended Albany High School, where she graduated before beginning a long and meaningful career at Tee’s Tiny Tot’s. She had a special gift for working with children and poured her heart into every child she cared for. She stayed connected with many of them throughout the years, proudly watching them grow into successful adults. To Debra, each child was family, and she loved them as her own until her final day.
After leaving the daycare, Debra continued her journey in another position where she met wonderful friends who became an important and cherished part of her life.
Debra never met a stranger a day in her life—she would talk to anyone and everybody, no matter who they were. She loved to dance, laugh, and have a good time. She was the life of every party, and whenever she walked into a room, she lit it up. A true free spirit, she loved everyone fully and deeply.
Debra was always there for her family and friends, no matter the circumstance. They could always count on her. She was a selfless woman, and she took great pride in giving and being present for others.
When Debra eventually stopped working, she felt a deep calling to serve her community. She spent her days delivering food and goodies—gathered from various organizations—to anyone in need or simply to those she wanted to bless. She loved surprising people with things she knew they enjoyed. Giving made her proud, and seeing a smile on someone’s face brought her immense joy. Acts of kindness were her way of spreading love wherever she went.
Debra was a devoted mother to her beloved daughter, Tiffany, and a proud grandmother to her precious granddaughter, Ah’Miyah (Mia), who was truly the light of her life. She cherished her dog, Kaleb, who truly lived up to saying “man’s best friend”. Being a mother and grandmother brought her immeasurable joy, pride, and purpose. Debra was also a woman of remarkable strength—she faced every challenge with courage, grace, and unshakeable faith. She taught her daughter to be strong and compassionate, to persevere through life’s hardships, and to never lose hope no matter what storms may come. Above all, she taught her to lean on God in all things. Debra’s wisdom, faith, and resilience shaped the lives of those she loved, and the lessons she imparted will live on forever.
Debra was called home on November 29, 2025, after spending a meaningful holiday with her family. In her final moments, she was surrounded by those who loved her beyond measure. Her passing was peaceful, held in the warmth, comfort, and love of the people who meant the most to her.
