Mother Dora Bell Jackson Raybon, affectionately known as “Ciss” was born December 25, 1932, in Leary, GA, to the late Lonzie and Essie Mae Jackson. She was the only daughter of this union along with her four “overprotective” brothers.
She grew up in Leary, GA, and was a faithful member of Bethel CME where she sang in the choir. She later moved to Albany to live with her Aunt Mae and Uncle Charlie. Upon graduating from then Madison High, she met and married the love of her life, her Boaz, Karey Douglas Raybon on December 20, 1952. Because they were now One, she joined New Zion Hill and sang in the choir. She worked as a homemaker most of her life taking great care of children. She worked at Phoebe Putney in housekeeping for about five years. After leaving Phoebe she returned home to take care of her children. She never retired from raising and loving her children.
To this union six children were born, Frances and Russell Bell (both deceased), Theodore (Lynda), Teresa, Karey (deceased), Angela (Primus), and Quintard (deceased).
She leaves to cherish her sweet memories, her only brother, Richard Jackson, Leary, GA; three brothers preceded her in death, Wilma, Eddie, and Lonzie Jackson; two sisters-in-love, Bessie Raybon Wright and Carey Raybon Dent; her grandchildren, Russell (Geniene), Aaron (Tiffany), Antwan, Nichole Meshale, Marrio, Orenthia, San (Toto), Yolanda, Rodriquez, Joy (Marhna), Jaquella (Robert), and JaQuan (Kieshandria); a special nephew, Tarsha Jackson; a special nephew, Lonzie Jackson III; and a host of loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who loved her dearly.
