Mrs. Elizabeth Sapp Williams was born on February 10, 1946, in Albany, Georgia, to the late Ernest Sapp and Rosa Fluckus Sapp, both of Albany. Elizabeth was the youngest of seven children: Ernest Sapp, Jr., Lillian Sapp, Nellie Sapp Peterson, Elmer Sapp, Andrew Sapp (all deceased) and Virginia Sapp Fedd.
Elizabeth was educated in the Dougherty County School System. She graduated from Monroe High School, class of 1964 and from Albany State College (University) with a BS Degree in Elementary Education in 1969. For 31 years, she provided faithful and outstanding service to the education of young children in Dougherty County. She retired on May 3, 2001.
She was married to her high school sweetheart, Theodore Sylvester Williams for 55 years. To this union, two children were born, Lisa Lissette Williams and Theodore S. Williams, Jr.
She was a member of The Episcopal Church of St. John and St. Mark, where she served untiringly on the Altar Guild.
In addition to her loving and devoted husband and children, precious memories will always remain with her beloved granddaughter, Tionne S. Williams, and a loving sister, Virginia Sapp Fedd and her children. Holding a special place in Elizabeth's heart were her nieces, Mary Jackson, Delores Moon and Sherrena Smith.
Additional family members include cherished sisters-in-law, Leola Williams, Mamie L. Shakespeare, Betty Vaughn Sweat, Barbara Gamble (Arthur); brother-in-law, Floyd J. Williams (Lorene) and nieces, Rita Langford and Brenda Pickett. Her forever friends are Linda Godwin, Jackie Collins and Costelle Anderson. Precious memories were also shared with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
