Elonga (Holloway) Graper

Elonga Holloway Graper, affectionately known as "Suda", was born September 20, 1928, in Albany, Georgia, to the late Doss and Ella Keaton Holloway. She was the youngest of three siblings, Maybell Holloway and Jack Willie Holloway, who preceded her in death.

Deaconess Elonga joined First Bethesda Baptist Church at the age of seven years old, where she served faithfully as a member for 85 years. During her patronage, she served as a youth advisor, junior choir advisor and also served faithfully with the Sunday School and mission ministries.

Elonga was educated in the Dougherty County School System and was a graduate of Monroe Comprehensive High School. She earned her cosmetology license at Albany School of Cosmetology and worked as a cosmetologist for ten years. Elonga later became a seamstress at Lee County Manufacturing Textile Company until her retirement in 1994.

Mrs. Graper leaves to celebrate her life and add to her legacy, two daughters, Dr. LaZoria (George) Brown of Albany, GA, and Ella (Delford) Murphy of Powder Springs, GA; two sons, Henry Jr. (Cynthia) Graper of Albany, GA, and Cornelius (Bessie) of Albany, GA; ten grandchildren, Rep. CaMia Hopson of Albany, GA, James Bailey of Augusta, GA, Veikko Bailey (KaTrina) of Leesburg, GA, Andrea G. (Robert) Ashe of Dacula, GA, Chaka Graper of Brunswick, GA, Joshua Graper of Savannah, GA, Joseph Graper of Savannah, GA, Jonathan Graper of Savannah, GA, Jasmine Graper-Gibson (Randy) of Macon, GA, and Stacy Graper of Macon, GA; twenty-six great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild; and two dear friends, Alice Daniels and Mary Clyde of Albany, GA.
