Born in Mitchell County, Georgia, to the late Mr. Henry Lee Allen and Mrs. Connie Edward Allen, Ethel Allen Butts was married to the late Deacon Ulysees Butts of Bible Way. She was the mother of six children. Three children preceded her in death - Carolyn Trice, Leroy Keaton, and Leorn Keaton. She is survived by sons, Sampson Allen, Samuel Allen, and Henry Lee Allen; nephews, Donald Poole, William Poole, Cedric Moss, and Earnest Moss; nieces, Patricia Beach, Brenda Raburn, Lisa Taylor, Ruth Poole, and Mona; four God daughters, Helen Walker, Juanita Henderson, Shirley, Howard, and Juanita Ellis; granddaughters, Pamela Allen Tell, Jessica Allen Mims, Lavonda Williams, Felicia Gray, Tonya Cauley, Carla Harris, Alisea Keaton, Kellie Keaton, Tiffany Keaton, and Kimberly Trice; grandsons, Leorn Keaton, Jr., Richard Keaton, Calvin Westbrook, Kimon Keaton, and Enrique Allen; and a host of many, many members of her never-ending Matriarch.
She became a member of Bible Way Missionary Baptist Church in 1974. She was a member of the Senior Choir, the Deaconess Ministry, and the church's Trustee Board.
God saw I was getting weary, so he did what He thought best.
He came and stood beside me and whispered, “Come and rest.”
I bade no one a last farewell, not even a “Goodbye.”
I was gone before they knew it, and only God knew why.
