She became a member of Bible Way Missionary Baptist Church in 1974. She was a member of the Senior Choir, the Deaconess Ministry, and the church's Trustee Board.

God saw I was getting weary, so he did what He thought best.

He came and stood beside me and whispered, “Come and rest.”

I bade no one a last farewell, not even a “Goodbye.”

I was gone before they knew it, and only God knew why.
