On Monday, February 1, 2021, surrounded by her two daughters, Gertrude Jackson was called home to be with our Lord. She was born to the late Sherman Venerable and Susie Guthrie in Halifax, Virginia on December 4, 1937. At a young age, she along with her family moved to San Bernardino, California. She was educated in the San Bernardino City Unified School District. She was a full-time homemaker.
At an early age, she dedicated her life to Christ and has been a member of Cray’s Chapel CME Church for many years.
She was married to the late Henry L. Jackson Sr. for 68 years and to this union, six children were born, two of which preceded her in death (Henry Jackson Jr. and Joanne Jackson).
Gertrude leaves to cherish her memories: two sons Steven (Maria) Jackson of Spring, TX; David (Nancy) Jackson of San Antonio, TX; and two daughters Brenda Jackson and Valerie Jackson of Albany, GA. She is also survived by a large number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, many other relatives, and friends.
