James Andrew Moon

James "Andrew" Moon was born to Nathaniel and Deloris Moon on February 22, 1982, in Beaufort, South Carolina.  Andrew was the youngest of three boys and had a smile that would light up any room. Andrew had a very active childhood and spent most of his youth and adolescent years in Richlands, North Carolina.   Andrew was athletically gifted in various sports but excelled in soccer. He played in numerous club organizations including international play and received several honors including an athletic scholarship to the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.  In addition to athletics, Andrew had a gift for writing and a sharp business acumen. After college, Andrew worked for several financial organizations, and at the time of his passing, he was the owner of DSM The Sports Advisory Group.

Andrew confessed Christ at an early age and was baptized at Bell Fark Road Church of Christ in May 1991.  Andrew was an active member working with youth groups and taught Bible Study classes. Andrew lived in Wilmington, NC, for several years and was very active in the community. He had a passion for working with the youth and volunteered at the Boys and Girls Clubs and various organizations. Andrew had an outgoing and engaging personality. He was a good listener and a very supportive friend. Andrew loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them, especially during the holidays.

On April 2, 2021, Andrew's untimely passing left a tremendous void, but with memories that will be cherished until eternity. Remaining to cherish Andrew's memory are his loving and devoted parents, Retired USMC Major Nathaniel and Deloris Moon; two brothers, Lonnie A. Moon, and Nathaniel A. Moon, Jr. (wife, Andrea); a nephew, Nate and a niece, Ashlee, whom Andrew adored; three aunts, Mary Jackson, Glenda Keith, and Betty J. Mitchell; two uncles, James E. "Jean" Tuck, and Carl Peterson; a loving God-Mother, Sharon Pratt; God-Sister, Charmaine Pratt; a special friend, Jillian Anderson; two great-aunts, Virginia Fedd, and Beverly A. Sapp; one great-uncle, Sylvester Williams; and a host of cousins and friends.
