Mr. John Edward Killings was born on October 13, 1945, in Albany, GA, to the late John Henry Killings and the late Mrs. Ida Mae Griffin-Killings. John was one of four children: two brothers, the late Mr. Richard Milton Killings and Mr. Robert Lee Griffin of Albany, GA, and one sister, Mrs. Erma J. Killings-Fulcher of Savannah, GA. John was the father of 3 children: Ms. Norma Jean Sheppard, who proceeded him in death, Mr. Jermaine Killings of Atlanta, GA, and Ms. Ashley Cheeks of Dothan, AL.
Mr. Killings was educated in the public school system in Dougherty County, GA. He was a very proud brick mason by trade with skills learned under his beloved uncle, Eddie Griffin, who proceeded him in death.
John served with honor in the Vietnam conflict with the United States Army. He was a very proud veteran.
Mr. Killings was very fond of all children and helped many mothers with their children.
On Sunday, July 4, 2021, at 5:45 AM, John heard the voice of Jesus calling and transitioned from labor to reward.
Mr. John Edward Killings leaves to honor his memories, his children: Mr. Jermaine Killings (Jimeta), Atlanta, GA, and Ashley Cheeks, Dothan Alabama; grandchildren: Keywaines Sheppard, CO, Makelyia (Sharon) Sheppard, CO, Dehaven Sheppard, Latoria Sheppard, Tiffany Sheppard (Travis) Harris, Albany, GA, Jamod Ali Killings, Jamir Naeem Killings of Atlanta, GA; one sister, Mrs. Erma Fulcher (Willie) of Savannah GA; one brother, Mr. Robert Griffin (Elizabeth) of Albany, GA. John also leaves 17 great-grandchildren and a host of cousins, nephews, and friends.
