John Swan, Jr.

John Swan, Jr. was born on January 30, 1936, to the late John Swan, Sr. and Annie Bell Swan. He was also blessed to be loved by 5 brothers, one sister, and one half-brother.

He excepted Christ at an early age under the leadership of the late Pastor J. D. Bolden of Oakie Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Albany, GA. He served faithfully in many capacities.  It was at Oakie Hill where God called him into the ministry at an early age. He was the pastor at St. Paul Baptist Church of Colquitt, GA for thirty-two years and at Israelite Baptist Church for 27 years.

He found the love of his life, Flora Mae Redding Swan. They were joined in holy matrimony for over sixty years. They were blessed with three beautiful daughters, Gail Marie Swan, Lise Mitchell Swan and Bengee Rena Swan.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Bengee Rena Swan; his brothers, James Swan, Willie Lee Swan, Jimmie Lee Swan, Mithchell Lee Swan; and his half brother, John Lee Swan.

Pastor John Swan Jr. leaves to cherish his memories, his brother, Eddie J. Swan of Cusseta, GA; a devoted sister, Mattie Ruth Swan, Kankakee, IL; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, and friends.
