Mrs. Lula Pittman Hosley Brooks was born on May 22, 1929, to Georgie Pittman and Mamie Henderson Pittman in Sylvester, GA. She was educated in the Worth County School System. She left Worth County in the late 40’s to begin a new life in Indianapolis, IN. She married Rufus Brooks in the 1950’s. To this union, three children were born: Rufus, Jr., Sandra and Jackie.
She was employed at General Motors in Indianapolis until she reached the age of retirement. She moved back to Worth County to enjoy her retirement. She enjoyed the outdoors and loved to do just about anything that required being outside.
Lula departed this life on March 28, 2020, at the age of 90. Her son, R. J. Hosley, Jr., preceded her in death. She leaves to cherish her memories: her husband, Rufus Brooks; four daughters, Alice Osborne, Betty Hosley, Cassandra Brooks and Jackie Brooks; one son, Rufus Brooks, Jr.; 16 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.
