Reverend Marcus “Munchie” Anthony Johnson was born April 2, 1970, in Putney, Georgia, to the late Matthew Acree and the late Rosa Linda Butts (Young).
He graduated from Dougherty High School in 1988 and continued to enrich and develop his life and the lives of those around him through hard work, education, faith, and a never-quit attitude.
Marcus was well known for his love of hard work, singing, and especially his love for the family farm he grew up on. He was a country boy at heart. Some of his favorite childhood memories included making syrup on the farm, running with his cousins in the country, and eating Grandma Rosa Lee’s biscuits. His healthy appetite earned him the family nickname “Munchie.”
He was married to Sharonda Johnson, and they both often stated that they found each other at just the right time.
Reverend Johnson is preceded in death by his mother, Rosa Linda Butts (Young); his father, Matthew Acree; and his beloved grandmother, Rosa Lee Young.
He is survived by his wife: Sharonda Johnson; children: KeiKei Johnson, Jasmine Sheppard, De’Ariesius Williams, Alfree James (Chris), Jaelyn Alford, Olivia Parks; bonus children: Ricshantis, Quianna, Mykia, and Roszanique; 16 grandchildren; stepmom: Emma Acree; brothers: Mathis Acree (Sonya) and Demetrius Jester(Lareea); sister: Deirdre Lee (Kelvin); father-in-law: Promas Robertson; mother-in-law: Mary Robertson; sisters-in-law: Nia Lavant, Rockeela Lavant, Lavonda Lavant; brother-in-law: Otis Lavant; special aunt: Helen Young; aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and many others who loved and cherished him.
