Norma Grace Walker, daughter of the late Lewis and Georgia Mae Walker, was born in Albany, Georgia, on August 24, 1939.
During her formative years, she was educated in the Dougherty County School System.
Growing up in a loving home where she was taught to love the Lord early in life, Grace accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior. She united with the Greater Second Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend C. W. Heath and remained obedient in her walk with the Lord until her health declined.
Grace was a very mild-mannered, good-hearted individual whose love for her family and friends knew no boundaries. She was the sunshine in many hearts and never knew a stranger. One of her finest qualities was gratitude. Although challenged with a lingering childhood illness, she pressed forward and never gave up-she was always grateful for every thing that came her way. Her courage and strength helped everyone realize that every day is a blessing and an opportunity to create lasting memories. Grace was the kind of person that anyone would be proud to call mother, sister, aunt, cousin, or friend.
On Saturday, August 1, 2020, Norma Grace was called home to eternal rest. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three siblings, Ruby M. Goodman, Lewis Walker, Jr., and Frank Walker.
Loving memories will forever be cherished by her son, Christopher (Caroline) Walker; siblings, Hilda Whearry, Raymond (Mary Alice) Walker, Gloria (Leo) Cauley, and Linda Walker, all of Albany, GA; grandchildren, Khris Te-Keyia Wright, Christian Walker, and Kassius Senaia Nix; one great-grandchild; a devoted friend, Harry Stanford; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of cousins, extended family and friends.
