Mr. Otis Barlow departed from this life on November 26, 2020, at the age of 93.
Mr. Otis was born on August 10, 1927, in Albany, GA, to the late Dave Barlow and Ethel Barrell. He was the grandson of the late Peter and Ola Champion Barlow.
Mr. Otis was educated in the Dougherty County School System. He was baptized at an early age.
Mr. Otis Barlow AKA “Iron Man” worked at Coats and Clark Thread Mill for 23 years before retiring.
He was a devoted husband, loving father and loyal friend. He was a strong, caring and outspoken family man. You never had to guess what was on his mind because he would let you know. Additionally, he loved farming and raising livestock.
Preceding him in death were his parents; grandparents; two aunts, Della and Mary Barlow; and siblings, Odessa Barlow Covin, Carrie Bell Harrison, Edress Barlow and Ozell Barlow.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Mrs. Rutha Pearl Barlow whom he married in December 1968.
He is also survived by his children, Brenda Alexander (Charlie), NJ, Otis Glen Barlow, NJ, Elvie Barlow, McDonough, GA, Calvin Barlow (Mary), Sandy Springs, GA; Jackie Alexander (Corrisha Farmer), Albany, GA, Beverly Barlow-Williams, Philadelphia, PA, Darren Barber, Woodbridge, VA, Charles Rush, Albany, GA, David Rush (Gloria), Albany, GA, Nellene Lake, Augusta, GA, Maxine Reynolds (Azil), Atlanta, GA, Micheal Barlow, Albany, GA; two “adopted” children that he raised, Mareatha Jinks and Frank Wallace; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
