Deacon Otis Wise, Jr. was born March 1, 1947, in Sylvester, Worth County, Georgia, to Mr. Otis Wise, Sr. and Mrs. Janie Mae Richardson Wise. He received his education in the Worth County School System.
Deacon Wise confessed Christ at an early age and joined The Albany Deliverance Cathedral under the leadership of Apostle Isaiah Revills. He later joined Albany Full Gospel under the leadership of Apostle Francis Brunson. In his seasoned years, Deacon Wise joined The Church of Jesus Christ Believers under the leadership of Bishop Robert Lawson where he worked faithfully and with integrity until he was called from labor to reward by the captain of his soul, Jesus Christ.
Chairman Deacon Wise was married to the love of his life, Evangelist Nella Pratt Wise on August 9, 2014. Deacon Wise was a great and loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. As a deacon, he was often referred to as the “pastor’s right hand.”
Deacon Wise was a man of many passions, like fishing, but as his many favorite fishing spots closed or became private, he resorted to repairing rods and reels. He also loved gardening and would often repair old gardening tools and make planter boxes, but he was most fond of going to the flea market to buy and sell his repaired rods, reels, tools, bikes, and swap meet finds and to just fellowship and meet people.
Deacon Wise answered his master’s call on February 26, 2021, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Deacon Wise is preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Otis Wise, Sr. and Mrs. Janie Mae Wise; his brother, John Henry Wise; sisters, Linda Wise and Irene Wise; and grandson, Rashard Roberts.
