The Beginning: Perry Eddie Reeves, Jr., man of God loved and an inspiration to many. He was born in Albany, GA, on April 26, 1937, to the late Mr. Perry Eddie Reeves, Sr. and Annie Reeves.
His Life: Perry Reeves began his formal education in the Dougherty County School System, graduating from Monroe High School. Immediately after high school, Perry enlisted in the U.S. Navy. After his navy career, Perry pursued many of his ambitions, owning several businesses and being an over-the-road truck driver for over 20 years. He was an entrepreneur at heart, so he started a landscaping business in the late 1980's called M.G. (Morning Glory) Landscape Services. He also opened up a flower shop called M.G. Flowers and a beauty and barber shop called M.G. Beauty and Barber Shop.
Mr. Reeves became a minister of the Gospel in the mid-1980's and loved his family. On March 26, 1986 he married the love of his life, Phyllis, together they had 6 children.
Everyone that knew Perry, knew that he loved his HONEY (Phyllis Reeves). He demonstrated how a man should love his wife. There was nothing that he wouldn't do for her. He loved and took care of her until she passed away March 27, 2014. Perry loved all of his children so much. He also loved riding motorcycles. He could talk for hours about his motorcycle riding experiences.
Perry spent the last few years of his life enjoying his children, grandchildren and great-grands, continuing to make lasting memories. He enjoyed his oldest daughter, Vontressa Robinson, taking care of him as his 24-hour caregiver until he passed away as she guided him calling on Jesus.
Legacy: His wife, Phyllis Reeves and daughters, Angela Davis and Kimberly Reeves, preceded him in death.
Leaving many memories to cherish include: his children: Vontressa (Raymond) Robinson, Katrina Tatum, Perry Reeves III (Shakeena), Cory C. Phillips (Denitras) and Ronald Reeves; his grandchildren: Shartice Hickman, Allen Jackson, Quantavious Eddie Johnson (aka Pooh Bear), Quantisha Johson (aka Poosie), Quanmeesha Keglar-Reeves, Quanyanna Kegler-Reeves, Tyler Robinson, Kateria Taylor, Erin Taylor, Eric Taylor, Perry Eddie Reeves IV, and Kashton Reeves; his great-grands: Nyqhian Johnson, Italy Cross, Shaniyah Johnson, Tyrius Osborne, Jr., and Timir Hickman-Collins; and a special cousin, Vanchester Wright. His love was also shared with a host of nieces, nephews, in-laws, cousins and friends.
