Ms. Renay Foster was born May 16, 1957, in Altamonte Springs, FL, to Mary Foster. She was the oldest of two children and raised by the late Eugene and Eddie V. Foster of Albany, GA.
At an early age, she attended New Jerusalem Baptist Church, and later she became a member of River Road Church of Christ.
She attended the public schools of the Dougherty County School System. She graduated from Monroe High School and attended Albany Technical College for a short period of time.
Renay worked as a candy striper at Phoebe Putney Hospital while still in school. She was employed by Bob’s Candy Company for many years and later retired from Walmart. She also volunteered for hospice for over 10 years and held many part-time jobs.
She leaves to cherish her memory her most beloved sons, Leonard Lawson, Jr. (Neola), Monroe, GA, and Troy Brooks, Sr. (Brittney), Albany, GA; her grandchildren, Erianna Lawson, Khandace Lawson, Troy Brooks, Jr., Janiah Williams, Tahir Williams, Semori Williams, and Aryaa Brooks; her mother, Mary Foster; her sisters, Elizabeth Foster, Chicago, IL, and Gracie Walker, Albany, GA; one aunt, Ruby Gatson, Altamonte Springs, FL; two uncles, Samuel Gregg and Aldolph Lee, Albany, GA; loving cousins who were as close as brothers and sisters; coworkers she called “her children,” and friends that were called family because she made you feel like family. If you knew her, you knew how special you were to her.
