Richard Mims was born May 12, 1939. He spent most of his formative years with his devoted grandparents, Tucker J. Mims and Lacy B. Mims. He attended the public schools of Dougherty County, Georgia, and graduated from Monroe High School.
For many in the community, he will be remembered as the produce manager in Piggly Wiggly, Brunos, and Publix.
He joined the Mt. Zion Baptist Church at an early age and remained faithful until the pandemic.
He was united in Holy Matrimony on December 20, 1967, to the former Miss Dorothy Berryhill.
He leaves to cherish his memory: a devoted wife, Mrs. Dorothy B. Mims; a daughter, Mrs. Kimberly Riggins; a son, Eric (Charisma) Mims; two grandsons, Will Riggins, II and Willis Riggins; a granddaughter, Tiania Huey; a sister-in-law, Ms. Mildred Berryhill; and a host of other relatives, friends, and co-workers.
