Shirley Green was born in Albany, Georgia, on February 14, 1959, to the late Victor and Isa Mae Lumpkin Green. During her time on earth, she received Jesus Christ as her Savior. With a strong and pleasant singing voice, she could often be heard singing praises to Him.
Shirley gave life to four wonderful children: Stephanie Nakeshia Green (Cedric) of Albany, Georgia; Darrell Teron Green (Nekesha) Oliver of Clarskville, Tennessee; Erica Green Oliver of Stafford Virginia, and Victoria Green (Patrick) Brackins of Albany, Georgia.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, and 7 siblings, Gregory Green, Harold Lumpkin, Victor Green Jr., Mary Green Westbrook, Lillian Kathryn Green Ford, Fannie Green Cross, and William "Billy" Green.
In addition to her children, she leaves to cherish her memory, 7 lovely grandchildren: De'Jauntray, Monkeria, Johnny, Destiney, Katilyn, Richlannd and Roman.
Shirley is survived by 4 sisters: Sharlene Green, Vickie Green, Cynthia Green (Walter) Anderson and Luella Eslick of Cleveland, OH; 2 brothers: Arthur Frank Lumpkin, of Albany, Georgia and Johnnie Green of Macon, Georgia. She also leaves to cherish her memory, a host of family, including special nieces and nephews, Jamillia, Janetta and Joseph Daniels of Albany, Georgia; JoNathan Daniels of Americus, Georgia; Travis Green of Atlanta, Georgia; and Mckesia and Arthur Bray of Moseley, Virginia.
Anyone who knew Shirley understands why she could often be considered the "Life of the Party," which is why we know Heaven began a glorious celebration on Monday, October 5, 2020, when she departed her earthly tabernacle to be with the Lord.
