Ms. Tara Alecia Gibson was born on April 3, 1964, to the late James and Annie Ruth Harris Gibson. Tara grew up in Albany, Georgia, where she attended school in the Dougherty County School System. She attended Southside Junior High and finished with the Mighty Westover Patriots (Big Red).
Tara was a Pure Servant, as she became a caregiver for so many - some starting as infants and leading to elders. She had a pure passion for caring for others, always putting others' wants and needs before hers.
On April 26, 2024, Tara departed from her Earthly Tent to her Heavenly Home surrounded by the love of family and friends. Those who preceded her in death were her loving parents, Mr. James Gibson, and Mrs. Annie Ruth Harris Gibson; four brothers, Mr. Lenored Tracy Gibson, James Gibson, Jr., Leon Gibson, and Alfonzo Gibson; and one grandson, Broderick Dequan Barnes.
Tara leaves to cherish her precious memories: her five sons, Roderick Dominique Gibson, Donterrious Shenord Orr, Montrell Marquiz Orr, Joel Frazier, and Jeremiah Frazier, all of Albany, Georgia; her seven grandchildren: Ty'Keria Butler, Aurianna Kayla Orr, Roderick Barnes, Montrell Orr, Jr., Jalen Orr, Jaylen Orr, Ashanti Orr; three sisters: Verna (Jimmy) Williams of Montgomery, Alabama, Mamie Alice Gibson of Albany, Georgia, and Harriet Ann Gibson of Montgomery, Alabama; four brothers, Herman Gibson, Edward Lynn Gibson, and Victor Demon Gibson, all of Albany, Georgia, and Robert Bobby Gibson of Monticello, Georgia; one God Sister, Josephine Cole Dennis of Albany, Georgia; one aunt, Geneva Harris Bell of Chatsworth, California; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
