William Rutherford Lawrence, Sr.

William R Lawrence, Sr. was born on July 5, 1949, to the late Ms. Charlie Mae Lawrence and the late Amos Johnson. William Sr. was the oldest of four children. He received his early education in the Dougherty County School System.

William Sr. worked several years at Coats & Clark Thread Mill. Later, he became employed at Railway Freight furniture store where he worked for more than 20 years

William Sr. is survived by his son, William Lawrence, Jr.; ten grandchildren, Shanikque Lawrence, La’William Lawrence, D’Andre Lawrence, Donavian Smith, Damerius Lawrence, Damorius Lawrence, Jontavious Lawrence, William Lawrence III, Jordan Lawrence, Courtney Seay, Vincent Jones, Kentrell Clyde; eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Dianne Lawrence; and one brother, David A. (Marsha) Lawrence. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
