Willie D. Davis, Jr. was born on October 14, 1947, in Brooklyn, NY. He was the first of eight children born to the late Willie D. Davis, Sr. and Earnestine Williams Davis. He grew up in a loving family with his parents and siblings in Brooklyn.
He was educated in the public school system of New York City. Later on, he also went to cooking school, earning a certificate for culinary arts. Listening to music was one of his favorite things, especially old school groups like the Delfonics.
For many years, Willie D. Davis, Jr. was employed at various companies where he used his many skills to provide excellent service. In fact, he received several awards for proving to be a hard and dependable worker. He was employed by Ford and Chevrolet Motor Division in Detroit, MI, for several years. He also worked for Bob’s Candies for many years. In addition to his employment achievements, he was a talented chef in his spare time and an award-winning poet. Willie was a true Renaissance Man.
Although Willie had no children of his own, he shared much love with his nieces and nephews. He had an humble and kind heart, always wanting everyone to get along. He never wasted an opportunity to make others laugh; his wittiness following him all the days of his life. His gift of gab caused him to make friends no matter where he went.
On November 22, 2020, Willie transitioned from this earthly life to his final resting place. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three siblings, Wilhelmina Renee Davis, Socorra Estrella Davis Palacio, and Geraldine Loretta Davis Johnson.
