Mrs. Willie Marie Strawder, age 67, passed away peacefully April 12, 2021, due to diabetes and congestive heart failure. She was born July 29, 1953, in Calhoun, Alabama, to the late Johnnie and Genevieve Rouse. She was married to her longtime friend and love, Shelly Strawder, for 34 years, who preceded her in death in 2005.
She received her early education from Benton County and Dougherty County Schools. She confessed Christ and was baptized early in life. She was a faithful member of Church of Christ in Albany, GA.
She leaves to carry on her memories, two loving sons, Lucious (Shaonna) Sutton, Jr., and Tracy (Debra) Sutton; one loving, devoted brother and five sisters, Edward (Cornelia) Rouse of Macon, GA, Geraldine Johnson of Albany, GA, Muriel Rouse of Albany, GA, Mae Rouse Cobb of Atlanta, GA, Cathy (Ronald) Hartman of Albany, GA, and Terri (Felix) Jones of Albany, GA; four grandchildren, Larry Brown, Marcel Ashely, Angel Ashely, and Terrell Sutton; and a host of nephews, nieces, relatives, and friends, all of whom she loved and touched deeply.
She went into the arms of Jesus to join her husband, parents, daughters, Shawanda Strawder and Jawanda Strawder, and a sister, Carolyn Wallace, in her heavenly father’s house.
She loved to love on people. She shared her love with a call or text daily to family and friends telling everyone she loves them and to stay safe. She always remembered everyone’s birthday including the pets. Her life was a living example of Bible verse, Ephesians 4:32, “And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ.”
