Yovennie Mae Threadcraft-Jones was born May 17, 1944, in Edison, Georgia, to the late Rev. Richard Allen and Mable Lee Threadcraft. Yovennie transitioned to her heavenly home on March 14, 2022.
She was educated in the Dougherty County School System. Yovennie was a graduate of Monroe High School in 1963. After high school, she furthered her education at Albany State College and later worked in the Dougherty County School System as a substitute teacher. While attending college, she met the now late Rev. David Alonzo Jones. They joined together as one on May 9, 1970. In 1976 God blessed the couple with a baby girl, their only child, Tanya Jones.
Yovennie accepted Christ at an early age and joined First Mt.Olive Baptist Church. Mrs. Jones was a member of the Deaconess Ministry and the Sanctuary Choir Ministry. She was a faithful servant until her health conditions limited her fellowship and required her to stop. She loved the Lord with all of her heart. Yovennie loved and cared for her family and friends with the same unconditional love as the Lord has for her.
She leaves to cherish her loving memory her daughter, Tanya Jones; two granddaughters, Quiateesha and Destinie Jones; one grandson, Miekelte Jones; three great-grandsons, Shia Jr., Princeton, and Josiah, one great-granddaughter, Peightan, one sister, Ruth Williams; one nephew, Richard; and a host of loving family and friends.
