Yvonne Terrell

Yvonne Terrell affectionately called “Nana” was born on October 20, 1951, to the parentage of the late Carla Lue Malone Jones and the late Rufus Phillip Terrell. in Albany, Georgia.  She was summoned home to be with the Lord on June 3, 2021.

Yvonne was educated in the public schools of Dougherty County graduating from the Monroe High School class of 1970.  After high school, she continued her educational journey at Albany Technical (College) School where she received the certificate to become a Certified Nursing Assistant.

At an early age, Yvonne accepted Christ as her personal Savior and was baptized at Mount Hebron Baptist Church and later united with Eureka Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. Bill Edge, Sr., where she served as a faithful and dedicated member until her health began to decline.

Early in Yvonne’s career, she spent many years doing what she loved doing the most, cooking at M & M Mars where she was employed.  She later decided to become a foster parent where she opened her arms and home to love and care for over 40 plus children.  She was a foster parent for over twenty-plus years.

On June 3 after a prolonged illness, Yvonne gained her Heavenly wings. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Samuel Malone, and James Malone; two aunts, Doris Henly and Inez Turner; and one uncle, Woodrow Moore.

Cherished memories will forever remain with her beloved children: Victor L. Terrell and Vicki L Terrell Cross and her son-in-law, LeVar Cross.  She leaves behind her grandchildren:  Deyonna Simone Windom, Valencia Whitaker-Terrell, Brianna Robinson Brandon Robinson, Dawson Georgia; Breyonna Terrell, Laiyla “Yvonne” Cross, Justin Owens and Kenye Terrell;  her siblings:  Gloria Malone, Mike (Betty) Malone, Jr., Kenny Malone, Vanessa Thomas, Rufus Phillip Terrell, Jr.; great-grandchildren, Michael Newkirk, Jr., and Saraiah Summersett; one Goddaughter Delin “Lisa” Bishop; aunts and uncles, Juanita (David) Reese, Albany, Georgia, Arthur (Mary) Moore, Jr, Elkgroove, Georgia, Eddie Hendley, Macon, Georgia; a very special friend, Aaron Brooken; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and sorrowing friends.
